A trusting client-therapist alliance is an essential component of the therapeutic process.
Daring Butterfly is an inclusive space, and clients who identify as LGBTQI+, and those in non-traditional relationship structures are welcomed here. This is a culturally informed, anti-racist space welcoming clients of all ethnicities, backgrounds, and nationalities.
I use LGBTQIA+ affirming, social justice-oriented, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approaches to support adults, couples, and group members struggling with a history of complex trauma, addictions, chronic pain, relationship concerns, depression, and anxiety.
Many of us seek mental health support while navigating challenging experiences, such as adjustment difficulties during arduous life transitions, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, grief, and loss. Often these conditions manifest in behavioral patterns that are hurtful to the individual and their loved ones.
I devotedly work with each client to promote holistic healing and resiliency through emotional, physical, and interpersonal growth. I facilitate this by providing customized therapeutic modalities that unravel destructive behaviors and self-sabotaging processes while relying on the therapeutic relationship to help individuals feel encouraged and accepted. I practice individual therapy from an attachment-informed and acceptance & commitment framework. I will support you in understanding how past experiences and relationships are currently impacting your relationship with self, others, and your world to help inform your options towards value-based living.
My extensive experience within national and international organizations serving veterans, refugees, and immigrants has heightened my awareness of the unique needs of culturally diverse populations. I worked in multiple specialty clinics including behavioral mental health, drug & alcohol, and residential recovery treatment programs. I am trained in providing individual and group therapy using research-backed interventions and have specialized training in providing remote (telehealth) therapy. In addition to psychotherapy, I also enjoy providing personal training and, when desired, weave appropriate fitness modalities into my work with clients.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Oregon (License #L10570). In 2016, I graduated with honors from Portland State University with my Masters in Social Work (MSW). I received my Bachelors in Psychology from University of Tennessee.
